John O’Hara

John attended the Western Australian Academy of Performing Arts (WAAPA) and has since carved a consistent and varied career both in Australia and abroad. Professional theatre credits include Hair, Shout!, Eureka, High Society, Oklahoma!, Dusty, Jesus Christ Superstar and The Rocky Horror Show.

John received wide critical acclaim for his portrayal of Rum Tum Tugger in the international touring company of Cats; opening the show in 28 cities across the globe. Other credits includeThe Boy From Oz, Rock of Ages, Wicked and most recently The Production Company’s acclaimed staging of Singin’ In The Rain.

John has a firm commitment to the development of new Australian works and as such has a continued involvement in projects including Georgy Girl, Make Me Bad and Matthew Robinson’s Happy People. An accomplished corporate and concert performer; highlights include Light The Night, Twisted Broadway, Time Warp and The Three Waiters. John provides the male voice for popular singing app, Warm Me Up, available through iTunes.

Regularly returning to his home town of Perth, John is a respected and sought after mentor, director and teacher for several youth arts organizations. John is thrilled to be returning to the Emerald City for the 10th Anniversary tour of Wickedand wants to dedicate his performance to little Finn who constantly reminds him there really is no place like home.
