Katie McKee

Ensemble

Originally hailing from Brisbane, Katie found her passion for performing at a young age. She relished in the dramatic, playing crazy old women, witches, drunken whores and evil queens.

In 2008 she graduated from the Western Australian Academy of Performing Arts with a Bachelor of Arts (Music Theatre). Her WAAPA highlights included Mrs Lovett in Sweeney Todd, the Young Wife in Hello AgainWest Side Story, Blood Brothers andOklahoma! with Jill Perryman.

Since graduating, Katie has performed in numerous productions including My Fair Lady (Opera Australia), the Australian premiere of Floyd Collins (Meredith Shaw Productions) and Transport (New Musicals Australia), written by Thomas Keneally and Larry Kirwan. She was most recently seen playing the role of Nancy in Oliver! (Packemin Productions).

Katie was selected as a finalist in the 7th Annual Cabaret Showcase which led her to write, produce and perform her own cabaret, Identity Crisis. In 2010, Katie was excited to haveIdentity Crisis play as part of the Sydney Fringe Festival.

In 2012 she performed a sold-out season of Swing Time with the Andrews Sisters at the Adelaide Cabaret Festival. The show was such a success that it went on to play in both Sydney and Perth.

As well as performing, Katie leads projects for WotOpera and is very passionate about bringing the arts to young people and inspiring them to think creatively.

Katie is thrilled to be a part of Wicked and would like to take this opportunity to thank her family, friends and her loving husband, Austin, for always being so wonderfully supportive.
