Sophie’s love of performing started from an early age when she would sing and dance to command attention from her three older siblings! She started tap, jazz and ballet lessons at age five with singing and drama lessons following. Whilst Sophie has performed in many musical productions, concert recitals and minor TV roles over the years, highlights include playing Rachel Maranos in John Doyle’s Marking Time (ABC TV), and ensemble in Dead Man Walking (Andrew McManus Presents) at the State Theatre in Sydney.
Upon leaving school Sophie was accepted into Western Australia Academy of Performing Arts (Music Theatre), graduating in 2011. Highlights at WAAPA include supporting lead Sue Masters in James Millar and Peter Rutherford’s premiere of A Little Touch of Chaos, Mitsy and dance captain inCrazy for You and Sheila in A Chorus Line.
Soon after graduating from WAAPA, Sophie was cast in the Sydney production of Next To Normal. She has since been involved in film and TV work, in particular, playing the role of Lana in the new Australian feature film L.A.D, produced and directed by Martin McKenna.
Sophie is thrilled to be making her professional music theatre debut in Wicked as part of the ensemble and Elphaba cover. She wishes to thank her amazing agent, Ian White, for his guidance and her wonderful and loving family and friends for their unwavering love and support.
